Are you interested in booking me to speak to your organization, deliver a workshop, or participate in a panel? Read on…
These FAQs were inspired by Seyi Akiwowo, the founder of Glitch UK.
Interested in me speaking at your event or participating in a panel?
Thank you for your interest! I accept only a small percentage of the many speaking requests I receive. Before you get in touch, please consider the following and include in your initial email: describe the structure of the event, the audience, the specific topic you’d like me to address, and if you will provide an honorarium and/or cover travel costs and per diem.
What are your fees?
My fees vary depending on the organization. I am self-employed, so only rarely accept pro bono engagements for non-profit events. If you are a for-profit organization charging admission for your event and do not remunerate speakers I will not participate.
A note on manels.
I will not participate as the moderator of an all-male panel, or “manel,” and I will seriously reconsider my participation if your organization has any manels on its agenda for the event in question. If you need references for women experts, please ask, or better yet, consult Women Also Know Stuff, Foreign Policy Interrupted, SheSource, or Google.
Interested in a workshop, expert briefing, or consultation?
If my schedule and committments allow, I am happy to share my expertise pro bono with government entities and non-profits. For-profit organizations seeking expert consultations should send a request through my consulting firm, Sophias Strategies LLC.
